Went here a couple times, each time i purchased an item and was told it would be delivered on day x and never came. Called to find out the issue and was told it was a computer glitch or something. Simply ridiculous. This is why big box stores are dying. They make all these promises without following through. Shame on you guys for duping your customers.
10/20 Rosa called to invite me to a weekend VIP sale. I couldn’t attend and let her know. Clearly not knowing there was an issue with the furniture order, she asked me how I liked the couch. I then explained the situation to her. She verified that I didn’t have any section of the couch in my possession and she said she would look into it and call me back on Monday. She never called back.
UPDATE: on 11/27, I emailed the email address with my concerns as the person that replied to this review instructed to do. it is 24 hours later and I still have no return phone calls or emails......
Here is is nearly December and I still have no answers, and no couch. I am paying for something I don’t have through my Gardner White account and also have taken time off from work that could have been avoided with a proper quality control inspection PRIOR to the delivery date.
Update: after multiple calls on my behalf and complaints I received a call 12/2 from Heather at the Macomb location assuring me that she has the correct piece in the warehouse and they can deliver it the same day!
A big compliment to Jose Reyes Gardner White, he’s one of the few old school sales men left these days. After leaving your competition down the street ;) thoroughly disgusted at being lied to and witnessing a manager telling a new hire to lie to customers on features of a couch I came there.

I purchased a custom sectional from Rosa at the Macomb location on 8/25/17. Rosa was excellent, very helpful and knowledgeable about the custom order options. I financed the transaction on my Gardner White account.
Soon as I entered Jose was there came up to me started of the right way with polite conversation and reminiscing of farmer jacks and m59 only being a two way street.
It was necessary to take time off of work to accept the delivery, so I used a vacation day to do this. On the morning of the scheduled delivery, I received a call from one of the delivery drivers stating that the stitching on one the pieces of the sectional was “wrong”. The delivery driver stated the piece would need to be re-ordered and asked if I wanted the correct piece delivered. I declined and asked to have it all delivered at once.
He listened and asked the right questions on what I wanted and not once tried to upsell or try the old trick of confusing me of what I really wanted in a upsell attempt keeping in mind my budget needs.
UPDATE: on 11/27 I received a call trying to schedule a delivery. When I asked of confirmation that this was the NEW corrected piece and not the same piece that had the stitching issue I was told "there were no notes in the account" and that the caller would find out and call me back. Still no call back.
I received a call to schedule delivery faster than I anticipate (about a month later). Delivery was scheduled for September 29th.
Sales were pushy soon as I walked into the door. The sales effort worked out good. I can’t say the same with the delivery visits. The first crew didn’t bring shoes covers and didn’t want to take off his shoes when I ask the first time. My bed was not assembled correctly. It was misaligned and half the screw were not tightened. The headboard was cracked and a bed support was laying uninstalled on the floor. The trash was left behind. The tech that came was very professional and ordered the replacement parts. I’m not waiting for new parts.
Purchased a couch, and a coffee table set. Was informed couch was on back order by Phillip Magel At the Hall road store. I was going to back out of my purchase once informed.. then they lied and said oh! It just happens to be being delievered next week tuesday and we will schedule your delivery for wenesday and it will work out perfect. Wenesday is here and the delivery truck driver called me and said the couch is still on back order and we can bring the tables. Thanks for the blatant lie gardner white. To be frank im not mad as much as I am dissapointed because my parents and grand parents swore by your professionalism, and you have proved them wrong.
11/17 called Gardner White Macomb location to find out the status. The person that answered the phone looked at the account as stated that it looked like the sectional was in stock, but she couldn’t tell if that was the original incorrect piece or the corrected version. She said she would look into it and call me back. She never called back.
If you go there ask for Jose if you remember the old school sales men integrity ;)
I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Gardner White and likely will not be spending money there again.
Had there been no issues with the item I custom ordered, Gardner White would have received 5 stars, and the issue itself didn’t deserve the absolute lowest rating, it was the consistent lack of promised follow up and communication that earned this rating
She was very helpful and even followed up with me immediately after the delivery to make sure I was completely satisfied.
